Undoing Time Is Out Now!

Book 3 in the Timegathering Series Is Out

Undoing Time — my time travel novel of love and history — is out now! I’m thrilled to bring out a new book in my Timegathering Series. Each is a standalone, but each builds on the Timegathering world, where you can inherit the gene that enables you to move through time and history. Each book has a larger story than the time travel — for each protagonist, the journey is both outward and inward.

“I love Rachel Dacus’s time travel books, and this might even be my favorite.” ~Diane Byington, If She Had Stayed.

The Story of Undoing Time

Liv Pomeroy is a privileged young woman whose plans for a beautiful wedding and happy life have been decimated by her fiance’s faithlessness. She flees to Florence, Italy, to drown her sorrows in a lot of good Chianti, and never-ever-ever fall in love again. (Insert “We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together” here.)

She’s also going to help her cousin May Gold with an art restoration project. Instead of restoring art history, Liv finds herself restoring actual history, when she joins a time traveling team May’s friend George St. James is time traveling guide. He recruits Liv to his team that battles enemies from the future who are trying to change the timeline to serve their ambitions.

Liv finds that she’s genetically gifted with a little trick she calls undoing time. Joining the time team brings Liv into contact with the one thing she doesn’t want — a new romantic interest. But fellow time traveler Tom Royland is determined to keep Liv off their team, so she’s not likely to not fall for his handsome face.

They plunge through the centuries together, with Tom showing Liv the ropes. But destiny — like history — can’t be easily changed.

In this time travel story of love and adventure, Liv’s assignment on the time team is to aid a woman artist in 1777 London. American sculptor Patience Lovell Wright is spying for the American Revolution. Liv offers to carry a message to a Colonial general, using her timegathering gift. What happens when she tries take Liv and Tom on perilous and diverginv journeys. Patience Lovell Wright, American sculptress

Publishing Undoing Time

I was so happy to finish this story, working with comments from early readers and editors to make it the best it can be. I found the image for the cover and my terrific designer, Michelle Argyle of Melissa Williams Design, put it together with the stairway into history. Thank you, Michelle!

The next step was to create an Amazon page. A page that makes or breaks a browsing reader’s interest. Writing these descriptions is an art in itself — one I’m still learning about. Self-publishing requires you to wear a variety of hats. Writer, editor, cover concept designer, publisher, marketer, advertisiing copy writer.

I celebrated publication by drinking one of the cocktails mentioned in the story — a Florentine specialty called a sgroppino. Prosecco, vodka, lemon sorbet, and crushed mint. Here’s a recipe. It’s delicious. Cheers!

Cheers! To Undoing Time!!
